It is nice having you again on my
little piece. The insights you shall be learning in this piece
are not my own words. They are extracted from the book written by the
acclaimed most ‘dullest school boy’ who later turned out to be the most
renowned and gifted neurosurgeon the world has ever know. His name is
Ben….. [No not Ben Ten], his name is Ben Carson, M.D. I had just
finished reading his book titled ‘THINK BIG’ so I thought it needful to
cull a few insights he shared in his book to you. The book ‘THINK BIG’
is a must read for every young person more especially those who wish to
or already majoring a career in the medical field. According to him he
said ‘This is a book about giving our best and especially about
doing whatever we can to help others-about thinking big. It might also
be called a book about excellence’ Enjoy!

wasting too much of your time in front of that television. You don’t
get an education from staring at the television all the time’-Sonya

enough. Do it again’

have to be-everyone’s important’

tremendously gratifying. Even though loyalty be an assumed in giving
one’s best, I consider it an outstanding characteristic that all of us
need if we are going to give our best’
-‘When Hopkins Hospital
agreed to separate the Binder twins, a team of seventy of us spent FIVE
MONTHS preparing for the operation’
-‘From then on I had an
overwhelming sense that if I would allow Him to, God will play a big
role in my career’

to explain miracle; all we have to do is accept them’

sensed about the rich people was their attitude towards television.
Although they had TV sets-sometimes as many as five or six-they did not
watch it much. Instead they spend a large amount of their time reading
and analyzing materials’
-‘Education is the best
provision for old age’-Aristotle
-‘In my opinion, the
base for personal preparation comes more from reading than from any
other source. That some people do like to read much is really no
substantive argument. The more we read, the better we read and the more
we enjoy reading. We can not read too much-most of us do not read
enough’
‘After reading comes the crucial step-REFLECTION.
We have to think about what we have read. We choices, we do certain
things because we have though them out’

everything that we encounter, the difficulty does not come with the
input of information, but in getting it out’

know is determined by the group you intend to influence’

must acquire every bit of information available to us’
-‘Students
who excel academically read extensively’
‘When we have
knowledge that other people do not readily have, somebody needs us. It
does not matter how we look like or where we came from, if we have
something others have a need for’
‘Knowledge is the key that
unlocks all the doors. You can be green-skinned with yellow polka dots
and come from mars, but if you have knowledge that people need, instead
of beating you, they will beat a path to your door’
-‘We may have
to explore a little. We may need to pursue various channels to discover
our own talent lies. We have to read for in-depth learning so that we
can be more proficient in our work and in our life goals’

things are wrought by prayers than these world dreams of. Prayer is the
key to success and we stand tallest when we are on our knees’
